It has been called the quintessential Southern item of furniture. The cellarette is an eighteenth century liquor cabinet prominent in the South in its day as a rum cabinet. The hand cut dovetail box was designed to hold as many as twelve bottles and be removed to carry your after hunt refreshments afield. With the current interest in collector bourbons and whiskeys, the cellarette has been rediscovered.

This version is made from a single slab of quarter sawn cherry with black walnut stringing, leg banding, and a federalist fan made of walnut and hard maple. It has a breadboard pull out mixing surface, a single dovetailed drawer, a boxed lid that is set in grooves to allow seasonal movement, and all the locks and hardware are English brass. This piece is the original, smaller version, but can be made larger if desired. It can be made to order with personal inlays, family crests, etc., and the wood choice of the client. All stringing and inlays can also be selected prior to construction.
